Ferrite bonded magnets are strong magnets made by mixing thermoplastic resin with ferrite powder, then kneading and processing through injection molding.

 

 

Features of Ferrite Bonded Magnet

1. No cracking or chipping as those may happen on sintered magnet. Even with complex shape, molding can easily be     performed.

2. With a low molded shrinkage rate of 0.5%, products needed high precision dimensions can be made without additional     processing.

3. With constant characteristic, the strength and the flexibility of the magnet can be easily adjusted by changing the weight     ratio of ferrite powder to plastic resin.

4. With mono-block or insert molding technology, molding with ferrous or non-ferrous part or other objects make a wide      range of application possible. 


The use of rubber magnet has be limited mainly to gaskets for refrigerator doors, sheet magnets for toys and educational materials.  However, as the application of rubber magnet has be extended to various types of motor, switches and sensors in recent years,  as a result, flexible rubber magnet (RM) with much better magnetic properties than sintered isotropic ferrite magnet has been developed.

 

Features of high performance Rubber Magnet

The rubber magnet is an elastic and flexible anisotropic magnet with the crystallization of ferrite powder in the same direction through machine orientation. This magnet is produced by mixing the ferrite powder, which is relatively cheap and has excellent properties, with synthetic rubber (NBR), which is used to increase elasticity, kneading and molding through rolling or extrusion.

1. Magnetic properties of rubber magnet is better than those of sintered isotropic ferrite magnet  (by about 30%)

2. The after process such as punching, cutting, drilling and bending are easily performed.

3. Specific gravity or density is low -3.6 ~ 3.7

4. Dimension and shape can be chosen freely - wide, thin or long forms are all possible

5. Rubber magnet will not crack or chip off like sintered magnets.

6. Because of the elasticity properties of the magnet, auto insertion into the casing of micro motor,

    for example, can be easily performed.
